NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - In what coach Colby Carthel called the biggest game at Homer Bryce Stadium in years, SFA defeated Lamar 26-15 to retain first place in the Southland Conference.
With the win, SFA is now 7-0 in SLC play with one game remaining. The Lumberjacks clinch at least a share of the conference championship.
SFA plays last-place Northwestern on Thursday with an outright conference championship on the line.
East Texans contributed to the win. Ky Thomas (Elkhart) had two tackles. Aaron Sears (Tyler Legacy) had five tackles.
