NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - New Madrid County Sheriff Joey Higgerson says deer hunters have found Caleb Powell’s abandoned truck in a rural area of the county.

Powell was reported missing in April and was considered possibly endangered.

Sheriff Higgerson says Mr. Powell is still missing, but directed searches will be conducted in the area where his truck was found.

The Sheriff says they do not need volunteers to help with those searches. The searches will be on private property and no one is allowed to search without the permission of the landowner. Investigators are also worried that too many people in the area could hamper the search.
