SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Scott County Sheriff Derick Wheetley says his deputies arrested a felon after he was found with a gun and drugs.
Wheetley says his deputies responded to County Highway 480 after a report of a suspicious person.
Deputies report that they made contact with the driver of that vehicle, James Johnson, 41, of Bertrand.
Investigators say they found several spent .22 caliber shell casings on the ground where Johnson was standing.
The sheriff says Johnson’s driver’s license was revoked, and when deputies tried to arrest him, Johnson resisted and had to be tased to be taken in custody.
Deputies say they found meth in Johnson’s pockets and a gun in plain sight on the floorboard of the vehicle.
Johnson faces the following charges:
