FEDERAL WAY — A change of scenery proved to be a perfect fit for Raegan and Jordan Zaemann.
And it helped lift the Columbia River girls swimming team to new heights.
Fueled by Raegan Zaemann’s runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, Columbia River captured its best showing at the 2A/1A state meet, finishing third.
The Zaemann sisters competed in the 2A/1A state meet last year for Seton Catholic. But moved to Columbia River for their sophomore seasons.
“Raegan and I, we had to transfer from another school to be here, and it’s just been amazing,” junior Jordan Zaemann said. “I mean, I love the team. They’re all so close, so nice. It feels like a family, and I love it so much. I’m so happy I got to be on this team this year.”
