NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans voters considered two proposed changes to the city’s home rule charter during Saturday’s elections.

Yes on Amendment 1

Voters approved Amendment 1, which now allows the City Planning Commission and City Council up to 90 days to review and make changes to the city’s master plan or its amendments. This is an increase from the previous timelines, 60 days for the City Planning Commission and 45 days for the City Council. Supporters argue that the longer period could facilitate a more thorough analysis and encourage public input.
