AMHERST – Despite even chances throughout the contest, No. 12/13 University of Massachusetts men’s hockey team was unable to solve goaltender Louka Cloutier, falling to No. 18/16 Boston College, 4-0 on Saturday night at the Mullins Center.
The setback leaves the Minutemen at 7-6-0 overall, 1-4-0 in Hockey East action, while the Eagles improve to 6-4-1, 4-2-0 in league play.
“That was the kind of effort I was hoping for from our team tonight after last night,” said UMass head coach Greg Carvel . “I thought we played a solid game. It was a game of which team was going to get a bounce or deflection. We had some chances early in the game. It would have been nice to score early, and maybe it takes the game on a different course.
