Washington ― More than $60 million for Michigan projects got approval last week as part of the package of legislation adopted by Congress to end the federal government shutdown, including $20 million for infrastructure upgrades to accommodate new fighter jets at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township.
The package included three full-year spending bills to fund the Department of Agriculture, military construction and the legislative branch, with the Selfridge funding intended to help prepare the base for the arrival of a squadron of F-15EXs and a runway relocation.
