GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The Transitions Life Center raised money to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Leaders of the nonprofit rented out a hangar at the Ocala Airport for their “Champagne Dreams, Flying into the Future Gala.”
Money raised goes toward funding a community center for young adults with special needs.
“When they age out of the school system at age 22, they don’t really have a lot of places that they can go and so we created this loving environment so that they can have a place to transition to after high school,” said Darren Ritch of Transitions Life.
The gala featured cocktails, live entertainment and more for those who bought their spot at the event.
