GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Casa Marion hosted a scavenger hunt in downtown Ocala to raise money for victims of domestic violence.
People searched downtown Ocala to support the nonprofit. Leaders gave hunters clues that took them around the city.
Money raised from the scavenger hunt goes to Casa Marion, which helps victims of domestic violence.
“So last year Casa Marion housed 232 people in our emergency shelter. So these are people who are fleeing very dangerous domestic violence situations and we house them until they are able to rehouse themselves and be independent and stable,” said Lariana Forsythe, Casa Marion chief executive officer.
Casa Marion raised more than $10,000 during the hunt.
