The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Shubman Gill will not take any further part in the first Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The India captain walked off midway during India’s batting innings on Day 2 after suffering a sudden neck spasm.
Gill Taken to Hospital; Under Observation
Before the start of play on Day 3, the BCCI issued an official update stating that Gill was taken to the hospital for a detailed examination.
The board added that the 26-year-old remains under the care of the BCCI Medical Team, and his condition will continue to be monitored.
“Captain Shubman Gill had a neck injury on Day 2 of the ongoing Test. He was taken to the hospital for examination after the end of the day’s play. He is currently under observation
