I’ve always heard people say the Wyoming Valley is one of the most supportive areas in the country for veterans.

That really rang true to me last week as I witnessed many folks come out for the Wyoming Valley Veterans Day Parade on Sunday.

Even though there were periods of rain, forcing many to don hoods and umbrellas, we still lined the streets to pay respect to the men and women who’ve afforded us the ultimate freedoms.

In its 80-year run, the parade has never been canceled. How amazing is that?

Kudos to the parade committee, the City of Wilkes-Barre, and all those involved in keeping it going year after year. I can’t think of much better than honoring these heroes.
