A car chase ended with a crash in Cottesloe on Saturday, as a chivalrous bucks party guest stepped in to give police a hand in apprehending the driver involved.

Now, compelling vision of the high speed chase — and subsequent dramatic arrest — has emerged.

The pursuit started in Hamilton Hill about 2.40pm as a Toyota Landcruiser station wove its way through the suburbs, into fields, and in-and-out of lanes.

It ended with the Toyota allegedly smashing into a rental car outside of a shopping complex on Station Street.

Sam Page was leaving his friend’s bucks party when he saw the driver take off running.

“I was leaving a good friend’s bucks party, and I saw them running up the road and thought ‘Why not stop what’s happening’,” he said.
