I t was on a cold January morning earlier this year that the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti-Suzuki, took the wraps off the eVitara, its first electric vehicle, at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. Yet, it is only now, as the year comes to a close, that the company is preparing to finally launch the vehicle. So it was with a sense of irony, perhaps, that I found myself on the outskirts of Milton-Keynes in England to drive the eVitara.
This was probably exacerbated by the fact that the car that I was driving came off a production line in Hansalpur, Gujarat.
