The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for Pune and several other cities across Maharashtra, forecasting a sharp drop in temperatures over the next few days. The department has indicated that parts of the state may experience the season’s first cold wave from Sunday through Tuesday.
According to IMD data, Pune recorded a minimum temperature of , with temperatures expected to remain at similar levels until Monday. Many parts of the city have also reported maximum temperatures dropping below . On Sunday morning, Pune touched , with Shivajinagar and Pashan recording and respectively.
Jalgaon recorded the , which is , making it the coldest region in Maharashtra this weekend. Other districts expected to experience cold wave-like conditions include .
