Pete Davidson 's dream is coming true.

While the Saturday Night Live alum's profile in the comedy world rose on the strength of his self-deprecating, I-still-live-with-my-mom shtick—despite his stacked dating history and seeming readiness to marry Ariana Grande at one point—he has actually been eager to be a father for some time.

So, when girlfriend Elsie Hewitt shared in July that they were expecting a baby just a few months after taking their romance public—"Welp," the pregnant model captioned her Instagram post, "now everyone knows we have sex"—it stood to reason that Davidson was over the moon.

“I’m excited to be a dad,” he said during a surprise appearance on SNL 's "Weekend Update" Nov. 8, “and give it all the energy and enthusiasm I never had for this show.”
