In a shocking incident from Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, a 24-year-old woman was killed by her would-be husband on the very morning of their wedding after an argument over a saree and money spiralled into deadly violence.

The accused, identified as Sajan Baraiya, is on the run, while police teams have launched a search operation.

The victim, Soni Rathod, was scheduled to marry Sajan on 15 November. According to police, Sajan arrived at Soni’s home on the wedding morning, where the two got into a heated argument over a saree and certain expenses.

In a fit of rage, Sajan allegedly struck Soni on the head with an iron pipe and then slammed her head against a wall, leaving her severely injured. She succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
