BRAINERD — Winter in Minnesota can be described in many ways, but unpredictable isn’t one of them.

At some point it will snow. Temperatures will drop below zero. Ice will coat the roads and high winds will turn a cold day into a life threatening situation. Planning and preparation can make a big difference in staying safe and resilient during and after a storm.

That’s why Crow Wing County in partnership with the National Weather Service and Homeland Security and Emergency Management is urging residents to take winter seriously and prepare now.
