The Election Commission of India has achieved a significant milestone in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II, with over 49 crore enumeration forms distributed to electors across 12 states and Union Territories as of November 12, the poll panel said on Sunday in its daily bulletin. It asserted that this represents 97.52 per cent of the total 50.99 crore electors covered in this phase.
The states and UTs involved in this phase include Andaman & Nicobar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. All participating states and UTs have achieved 100 per cent printing of enumeration forms, reflecting robust preparedness and logistical efficiency.
