Vatican City: Pope Leo XIV, addressing the faithful at the Sunday Angelus, delivered a moving appeal for an end to violence, discrimination, and persecution particularly against Christian communities across the world.
Lamenting the ongoing suffering caused by wars and targeted attacks, the Pope condemned assaults on churches and faith-based institutions. “My thoughts turn especially to Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mozambique, Sudan, and many other regions where communities and places of worship face repeated violence,” he said. “God is a compassionate Father who desires peace among all His children.”
The Pope expressed deep concern for the people of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where terrorists brutally killed around 20 civilians at a Church-run hospital in Byambwe on Friday
