There will be new faces on the Grand Erie Public Health board in the coming weeks.
Member Shelley Ann Bentley — who is also the mayor of Haldimand — has stepped down from the board, effective immediately.

The move comes after the board asked Bentley to apologize for her involvement in a leak of confidential health unit merger correspondence during the provincial election. The board decided to issue a “formal written reprimand” and post the integrity commissioner’s report on its website.
Bentley was docked 120 days’ pay by Haldimand council but has denied leaking the documents.
“As mayor, I remain committed to upholding accountability, fairness and transparency — both to the public and within the institutions I serve,” Bentley told The Spectator last month.
