Hyderabad: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) foiled a gold smuggling attempt by a passenger at RGI Airport and seized gold bars weighing 1196.20 grams worth Rs 1.55 crores. His associate in AP was also held by the DRI officials.
The passenger had arrived from Sharjah and crossed the green channel at the RGI Airport. “Upon examination of his baggage, officers found a suspicious iron box which, when opened in the passenger’s presence, was found to contain ingeniously concealed foreign-marked 11 gold bars.
