SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg Police Department reported an arson at a credit union on Saturday night.

Officers responded to the Carolina Foothills Credit Union at 520 North Church Street around 10:43 p.m. Upon arrival, crews with the Spartanburg City Fire Department stated the fire started outside the credit.

Police said that the left side of the bank appeared to be burned as a result of whatever started the fire.

The fire department said that crews had to create a hole in the roof to help put out the fire. Due to the water, the credit union would not be opening anytime soon.

The credit union manager said that a new facility will be built to replace the damaged building.
