If you ever have to suffer the fate of a canceled show, let it be one from Amyl and the Sniffers .
On Friday night (November 14th), the Aussie rockers were meant to play an all-ages show at Melbourne’s Fed Square. However, as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports, that gig was canceled with mere minutes to go after organizers noted a series of “security breaches.” Katrina Sedgwick, an executive with the Melbourne Arts Precinct group that’s responsible for booking local events, said that the decision “was not made lightly,” and that safety concerns affected not only concert attendees but the band and the nearby neighborhood.
So, how did Amyl and the Sniffers respond to this spot o’bad news? By picking up an entire $35,000 bar tab, of course.
