TRAVERSE CITY, MI – A 17-year-old was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly shot at Traverse City police officers during a foot pursuit.
Officers also arrested an 18-year-old man on Saturday, Nov. 15, in connection with what initially started as a theft complaint.
Police responded to a 10:07 p.m. report of a larceny from a vehicle in the 1200 block of East 8 th Street. Two men matching a description of the suspects were located in a parking lot in the 100 block of Munson Avenue.
When officers made contact, the individuals fled on foot. During the chase, the 17-year-old allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at the pursuing officers.
One round struck an officer’s uniform pant leg, but no injuries were reported.
