: General secretary of the Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA) Wallambok Lyngdoh has been elected as a member of the Governing Council (GC) of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF).
The election took place on November 14, 2025 during the 61st Annual General Body Meeting held at the IMF Campus, New Delhi.
The IMF, the apex body regulating mountaineering and allied adventure sports in India, operates under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and oversees sport climbing at national and international levels, including events such as the Asian Games and the Olympics. It is also affiliated with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC).
A total of 16 eminent mountaineers contested the election, from which 11 members were elected to the GC.
