Koraput: With the arrest of 19 alleged thieves, police in Odisha’s Koraput district on Sunday claimed to have cracked at least eight cases of dacoity and burglary.
The arrests were made after multiple teams tracked down suspects involved in recent incidents across Kundra, Jeypore Sadar and Jeypore town areas, Jeypore SDPO Partha Kashyap told reporters ADVERTISEMENT
He said a dacoity in Kundra town a few days ago led to the arrest of four accused on Sunday, while four others linked to the same case had been nabbed earlier. Around Rs 80,000 in cash was recovered from them.
In another case under Jeypore Sadar limits, six men from Teliguda were picked up for allegedly stealing gold ornaments and disposing of them through a gold loan company. All six have been forwarded to court.
