Pope Leo XIV on Sunday hosted a special lunch for hundreds of disadvantaged people in the Paul VI hall at the Vatican.
The lunch marked the Jubilee for the Poor, a special event that is part of the Vatican's 2025 Holy Year.
“Help us all to always walk united in your love. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Best wishes and enjoy your meal!” the pontiff said.
The poor and disadvantaged who attended the lunch are assisted by Catholic organisations and come from different backgrounds and countries.
Among them were transexual women supported by Catholic nun Sister Genevieve and Reverend Andrea Conocchia in Ostia and Torvaianica.
