SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. —
Friends, family and supporters honored Jessica Dishon's life in a lasting way on Saturday.
Jessica was just 17 years old when she was beaten to death by her uncle Stanley Dishon in 1999.
She was missing for 17 days before her body was found seven miles away from her home in Bullitt County. In March of 2015, Stanley Dishon was sentenced to 20 years for manslaughter and other charges.

Saturday, loved ones met at the Shepherdsville Farmers Market Pavilion to walk in her memory and dedicate a new garden in her name.
The garden is meant to serve as a haven for domestic violence victims seeking hope and support.
Event organizers say the garden is just a small part of what they can do to help keep Jessica’s memory a
