NEW YORK —
New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot in New York City on Sunday morning.
According to the New York Police Department and ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, Boyd was shot around 2 a.m. in Midtown Manhattan.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the abdomen. He was then taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The New York Jets issued a statement saying, "We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time."
Boyd previously played for the Houston Texans; however, he is now a cornerback for the New York Jets.
