Third base coach Kristopher Negron is leaving the Seattle Mariners to become the bench coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to multiple reports.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the hire . The Pirates have yet to make an official announcement.

Negron, 39, spent the past six seasons in the Mariners’ organization. After retiring from playing in 2019, he was hired as an assistant to the director of player development. In 2021, Negron became the manager of Triple-A Tacoma, led the Rainiers to their first Pacific Coast League title since 2010 and was named PCL Manager of the Year. He was promoted to Seattle’s first base coach the following season and became the club’s third base coach in 2025.
