RIO VERDE FOOTHILLS, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is accused of shooting and killing another man in the far East Valley on Saturday morning.

Just after 3:30 a.m., first responders received multiple reports of shots fired near the area of 140th Way and Tumbleweed Drive in the Rio Verde Foothills community, north of McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and found a man’s body in the front yard of a home, and saw another man fleeing the scene.

The fleeing man, later identified as 24-year-old Antwain Clark Jr., reportedly crashed into a patrol vehicle when deputies tried to stop him.

Clark was placed under arrest and booked into jail on charges of second-degree murder. His bond was set at $750,000.
