The banged-up Vancouver Canucks will be getting their captain back on the ice sooner than later.
Quinn Hughes will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s tilt against the Tampa Bay Lightning, general manager Patrik Allvin announced in a press conference, according to Sportsnet’s Brendan Batchelor.
Hughes missed Friday’s game with an undisclosed injury.
The 26-year-old star defenceman has already missed time this season, sitting out four games (Oct. 26 – Nov. 1) with a lower-body injury. Vancouver is 2-3 without its captain in the lineup.
Hughes registered one goal and 13 assists in 14 games this season, while averaging a career-high 27 minutes per night.
