CLEVELAND — Police Chief Jeff Film has officially retired after more than three decades of service in the city of Stow .
Film's retirement became effective Sunday. He joined the Stow Police Department in 1991 and rose up the ranks to become chief in 2014. He also served seven years as the commander of the Metro SWAT Team.
"It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your Chief of Police over the past 11 years," Film said in a statement. "When I was sworn in as a new recruit in August 1991, I never imagined I would one day have the privilege of leading this department. From the beginning, I have been humbled by the trust placed in me and inspired by the strength, character, and support of this community.
