Deputies caught one motorcyclist and are looking for another following a chase in Rowan County on Saturday night.

Around 10:36 p.m., deputies were conducting a traffic checkpoint at the Old Beatty Ford Road and China Grove Road intersection after receiving multiple complaints about traffic violations.

While at the intersection, deputies say they signaled two motorcyclists to stop, but both refused to do so and a pursuit ensued.

While in pursuit, one of the motorcyclists crashed and was then pinned underneath by one of the deputies’ vehicles. The suspect was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The second motorcyclist continued to flee and deputies eventually lost sight and abandoned the chase on I-85.
