The Pittsburgh Steelers faced significant criticism on social media ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, amid rumors that head coach Mike Tomlin could be leaving.
The Steelers are hosting their AFC North rivals at their Acrisure Stadium and were ahead 7-6 in the second quarter at the time of writing.
A video of the field went viral online before tipoff, showing the poor condition of the turf.
“There are “3 foot potholes” in some parts of the Steelers field today… What is going on with the ownership of this team man🤦♂️,” the caption read.
Most fans agreed that the Steelers were simply out of touch.
“Shoutout to Tomlin for trying to make Ja’Marr Chase fall into a pothole to prevent him from catching 16 passes again,” one wrote.
