Josh Jacobs has carried the workload for the Packers' backfield this season, so Sunday's Week 11 injury could prove to be a major loss for Green Bay.
Early in Sunday's game against the Giants, the Packers running back made a trip to the blue injury tent before returning to the game. But after he was stopped at the goal line early in the second quarter, Jacobs was seen heading to the locker room at MetLife Stadium.
It was unclear exactly what happened to cause Jacobs' injury, but the turf at MetLife has been notoriously brutal on players over the years.
The Packers ultimately ruled Jacobs questionable to return with an undisclosed knee injury.
Emanuel Wilson took over as the lead running back in Jacobs' absence. Assuming Jacobs is done for the day, we'll have to see what Matt LaFleur says postgame about his star running back's injury.
Update: The Packers officially ruled Jacobs out at the start of the second half.
There is early optimism that Jacobs did not suffer a season-ending injury.
