FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A West Virginia State Trooper arrested a driver Wednesday afternoon after a high-speed pursuit that stretched from Interstate 77 onto U.S. 19 and reached speeds of 90 mph, according to a criminal complaint.
The incident began around 4:29 p.m. on February 12, 2025, when a trooper spotted a blue Dodge pickup with West Virginia registration 66W-987 traveling north on I-77 near mile marker 46. The trooper paced the truck at approximately 90 mph in a 70-mph zone and initiated a traffic stop using lights and siren.
Instead of stopping, the driver reportedly exited onto U.S. 19 at mile marker 48 and continued north, speeding through a toll booth at more than 80 mph. The trooper notified WVSP Parkway Dispatch as the vehicle continued through the Mount Hope area, r
