BREMERTON, Wash. — Police are looking for the suspect that hit and killed a woman early Sunday morning in Bremerton, before fleeing the scene of the crime.
Witnesses called 911 at around 5:15 a.m. to report that an adult woman was struck and killed by a driver near the area of Wheaton Way and Ivy Road.
The driver was nowhere to be found by the time law enforcement arrived.
Bremerton police and fire personnel attempted to revive the victim, but they were unsuccessful. She died at the scene.
The victim's identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
Bremerton police say their investigators have developed "strong leads" in their search for a suspect, but at this time they are not releasing any specific details.
