While the Philadelphia 76ers' starry young backcourt duo of All-Star point guard Tyrese Maxey and rookie shooting guard V.J. Edgecombe, plus backup guard Quentin Grimes, continue to save the club's season and redefine its identity as a pace-and-space juggernaut, the team's veteran frontcourt has barely been healthy.
Plodding seven-time All-Star center Joel Embiid first played under a minutes restriction before he started being held out of games again. He's been on the shelf since Nov. 8 with a knee injury. Former nine-time All-Star combo forward Paul George has yet to suit up this season as he recovers from a summer knee scope, although his return may happen sooner rather than later.
