The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group has entered the Caribbean Sea, according to the US Navy, putting the world’s most advanced carrier at the center of deepening tensions in the region. The group is joining US forces already in the Caribbean as part of the Trump administration’s effort to “defeat and dismantle criminal networks,” the Navy said in a news release.
