The Pittsburgh Steelers were going to stay in fourth place in the AFC no matter the outcome on Sunday. They were two games back of the rest of the division leaders and far enough in front of the rest of the AFC North where moving wasn’t in doubt. Still, a win has them well-positioned for the remaining playoff run.

Around the AFC, the New England Patriots won on Thursday to take over first place passing the idle Indianapolis Colts on their bye. Then the Denver Broncos beat the Kansas City Chiefs to take the top spot from New England.

In the wild card race, the Buffalo Bills leapt the Los Angeles Chargers. Buffalo won while the Chargers fell to the Jacksonville. All three AFC wild card teams held onto their position, but the numbers flipped.
