President Donald Trump confirmed that his proposed $2,000 tariff dividend checks are coming to most Americans, but a date hasn't yet been finalized.
Trump confirmed that the payouts wouldn't be arriving in time for the Christmas shopping season, rather in 2026, which will coincide with the midterm election cycle.
“It will be next year. The tariffs allow us to give a dividend. We’re going to do a dividend and we’re also going to be reducing debt,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday (November 14) via the New York Post .
The president initially promised a $2,000 tariff "dividend" would be paid to most Americans in a post shared on his Truth Social account Sunday (November 9).
