Jalen Ramsey revealed why he threw a punch at Ja’Marr Chase which led to the Steelers cornerback getting ejected.
“He spit on me,” Ramsey told reporters after Pittsburgh’s win . “So, it’s up. I don’t give a (expletive) about football after that, respectfully.”
Chase, however, denied he spit on Ramsey.
“I never opened my mouth to that guy,” Chase said, who later added , “I didn’t spit on nobody.”
Ramsey and Chase both received unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on third-and-1. The two were seen exchanging pleasantries as Cincinnati called a timeout. Before the Bengals ran their fourth-and-1 play, Ramsey grabbed Chase’s facemask and took a swing with his right hand.
The officials ejected Ramsey quickly and he was escorted off the field by a Steelers staff member.
