Jaedyn Shaw helped set up the game-winning goal for Gotham FC in the quarterfinals of the NWSL Playoffs. On Sunday evening, she was the one to score the game-winner.
Shaw’s goal in stoppage time propelled Gotham to the NWSL Championship game with a 1-0 win over the Orlando Pride, the defending champions, punching the club’s ticket to the title game for the second time in the last three years.
The Gotham FC forward was given a free kick just outside the penalty area when she bent her shot toward the net, allowing it to take a bounce and catching Orlando keeper Anna Moorhouse off guard enough for the ball to go in.
