Sebastian Gatto did it again.
Last week, the London Knights goaltender stopped 41 shots and all three shootout attempts in a win at Owen Sound. This time, he held red-hot Sault Ste. Marie to a pair of goals and denied Greyhounds Christopher Brown and Brady Martin for a 3-2 shootout victory before 9,061 Sunday afternoon at Canada Life Place.
The Knights were missing head coach Dale Hunter, who is day-to-day with an illness. Defenceman Henry Brzustewicz didn’t play for the second straight game (upper-body injury) while d-man Caleb Mitchell and forward Evan Van Gorp also sat out.
Those are significant roster losses, but it didn’t matter. The rookie Gatto and the Knights already have plenty of experience with overtime and the shootout this season.
