The city’s long-awaited zoning ordinance update has been delivered to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, which will hold a public hearing on the document Monday night before sending it to the Committee on Accounts, Enrollment & Revenue Administration ahead of a vote by the full board in December.
Monday’s hearing will get underway at 6 p.m. in the aldermanic chambers at City Hall.
This would be the fourth zoning ordinance in the city’s history, with the prior ordinances adopted in 1927, 1965 and 2001.
The proposed ordinance is the product of more than three years of work by city staff and the participation of more than a thousand residents of the city.
