MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A registered sex offender who has been deported from the United States twice since his sexual battery conviction eight years ago is back in federal custody.
The Memphis Safe Task Force captured 48-year-old Mexican national Antonio Naranjo Soria following a recent traffic stop.
Records show he is now in the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In 2016, Soria was indicted for rape in Shelby County. He later pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of sexual battery and was sentenced to serve three years and six months at the Shelby County Department of Corrections, beginning in February 2017.
