LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan’s Take Control of Your Birth Control Campaign has officially ended after a year-long run providing free contraceptives statewide.
The program was a partnership between the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
“Everyone, no matter how much money they make, deserves to make their own decisions about their own reproductive health and future,” said Governor Whitmer.
According to the department, they distributed more than 460,000 free contraceptives and reproductive health resources to all 83 counties through more than 440 partner sites. Also, sparking a 14% jump in Medicaid and Plan First! applications.
