The Steelers had a plan Sunday to take away Ja’Marr Chase, and it worked in their 34-12 blowout win over the Bengals at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.
A month ago to the day, Chase lit up the Steelers for 16 receptions, 161 receiving yards and a touchdown in a Thursday night 33-31 win for the Bengals. After that game, Chase claimed that the Bengals knew what the Steelers were going to do on defense.
But Sunday, the Steelers limited Chase to just three catches on 10 targets for just 30 receiving yards — the third-fewest he’s had in a game this season, and the fewest he’s ever had in his eight games against the Steelers.
Joey Porter Jr. noted that this time around, it was the Steelers who had the plan going in.
