The Seattle Mariners and first baseman Josh Naylor have agreed to terms on a five year deal, per Jeff Passan. No details yet on the terms.
Naylor, a 28 year old first baseman, was originally a first round pick of the Miami Marlins back in 2015. He was traded a year later to San Diego in a seven player trade that included Luis Castillo and Andrew Cashner. Then in 2020, he was dealt to the Guardians at the deadline as part of a nine player deal that brought Mike Clevinger and Greg Allen to San Diego.
Naylor has spent the last four seasons as a 2-3 win first baseman. The Guardians traded him to Arizona last offseason for Slade Cecconi, and he was then shipped to Seattle at the deadline for Brandyn Garcia and Ashton Izzi.
Between Seattle and Arizona, Naylor put up a .295/.353/.462 slash lin
